Welcome to Bedside Studio!
I make art from a queen‑sized island: my bed, with a cheap little Walmart table, and a rolling cart stuffed with yarn, pens, and too many sketchbooks. I live with COPD, degenerative disc disease, chronic sciatica, and the kind of flares that knock me flat for days. Standing at an easel or sitting at a desk isn’t in the cards for me right anymore.
But drawing, journaling, reading, crocheting and knitting from bed help me find pockets of calm and forget the pain for a few minutes at a time. Here, I share tiny, bed‑friendly creative practices—traditional and digital drawing, therapeutic journaling, and low‑brain‑power knitting and crochet—designed for people who can’t do the “perfect studio” thing either. Plus I’ll share what books I’m currently reading.
If you’re living with chronic illness, chronic pain, breathlessness, fatigue, or just a body that can’t keep up with Pinterest‑perfect studios, this space is for you. We celebrate wobbly lines, half‑finished projects, and five‑minute wins. No hustle, no shame, no requirement to get out of bed.
