This morning did not start off great. Weather is crazy here right now, really warm for this time of year, but has plummeted back down to the upper 20s again so my bones are feeling it and it’s triggered a migraine. Luckily, I have nowhere to be and nothing to do lol.
Reads

My latest reads have been mostly drawing, procreate, doodle books but I’m about to start a book on Apple Books (is that what it’s even called?) called The Girls In The Snow by Stacy Green. It’s a free download, or at least when I downloaded it last week. I usually use Kindle. If you have the app, or Nook, there’s a site called Bookbub that will send you emails with free and discounted e-books. Not sure if they’re for Apple as well. Speaking of the iPad, here’s a link to the stand I use that I absolutely love. I can set it on my lap, my table, the bed, and adjust the position. The little pen holder is a little to big for my apple pencil but I use a cover that has a holder for it anyway.
Knits

I like to make my own placemats and table runners, even though I haven’t been able to actually sit at the table since early December, I can still admire them in passing. I normally crochet them and the family loves the holiday themed ones I do but this time I decided to go more sophisticated and a knit pattern instead. I’m loving how they’re looking so far, or, it is looking. I’m only on the first one.
Artsy Fartsy

My artsy makes this week are a watercolor pencil scarab beetle. I love everything about it except the dark areas, I keep my colored pencils in cases and I have all of my Arteza in one case, probably not the best idea in hindsight because I grabbed the regular colored pencils for the brown, gray and black mix and couldn’t figure out why it would not blend out when the bright colors blended beautifully. Took me a minute but I finally got there.
The other is a sticker sheet I’m working on. The sketching stage is always the ugly part and I wanted a bit of color to motivate me so I finished one in entirety before going on to finish the others. The image is dark because I was trying to show both the sketches and the finished sticker lol.
Journaling
I didn’t do much in the way of journaling but I did a lot of brain dumping and vision boarding for this blog and all of the components I wanted to go with it. It’s a lot trying to make the site, add the socials, make a Facebook page and Facebook group, second site to keep the freebies (at least that was easy, I’m already familiar with Ko-fi) and don’t get me started on the whole setting up a Newsletter sign up. I think they do it on purpose to try to break you and make you go with paid services but I will prevail! Haha!
That’s the wrap up for this week. Hope you enjoyed my random musings. Next week I’ll start posting some easy doodle and journaling prompts so I hope you come back and and try one or two. Don’t forget to check out the freebies page, I have added a few things and will be adding more as time goes on.
Thanks for stopping by!
Deanna
